Unbounded Naturopathic Medical Clinic is a general family practice, owned and operated by Dr. Jane Gartshore, ND. The clinic is located in the Coast Professional Centre in upper Gibsons, BC.
Unbounded Mission Statement
It is our mission to assist individuals of all ages on the Sunshine Coast in achieving freedom from any limitations in their lives that are due to health challenges on any level – physical, emotional, mental, or spiritual so that they may experience the joy of optimal health and well-being. We will do our best to prevent lifestyle-induced chronic disease in our patients through education and modeling of healthy lifestyle choices.
We will carry out our mission by providing excellent naturopathic medical care in an environment that is safe, supportive, inspirational, and healing.
Dr. Jane Gartshore, ND
Dr. Gartshore 
is the owner of Unbounded Naturopathic Medical Clinic. She is a graduate (2009) of the Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine program at the Boucher Institute in New Westminster, BC. She received her undergraduate degree (B.A. Hon., German Studies and Psychology) from the University of Guelph in 1997.
Her interest in healing began with reflexology and Reiki in 2001 and Reiki has since become an important part of her life. She is trained in Karuna Reiki® as well as the more traditional Usui/Hayashi/Takata style.
Dr. Gartshore chose to pursue the study of naturopathic medicine because she believes it offers a truly holistic approach to primary health care: a thorough investigation of the cause of illness on all levels–physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual, as well as a large selection of therapeutic modalities that allow for effective treatment on these levels.
Dr. Gartshore is a great listener and cares deeply about her patients. She has a firm belief in the amazing ability of the human body to heal itself when given the proper tools and inspiration. Outside of work she enjoys spending time in nature with her partner, children and dog. She loves animals and has been vegetarian for the past 10 years.
In addition to being a member in good standing with the College of Naturopathic Physicians of British Columbia (CNPBC), Dr. Gartshore belongs to the British Columbia Naturopathic Association (BCNA) and to the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors (CAND).
About Naturopathic Medicine
Naturopathic medicine is a holistic system of primary health care. Naturopathic physicians seek to find and understand the cause of the patient’s illness or imbalances, whether that cause is on the physical, mental, emotional, or spiritual level (or all of the above). Treating the cause of illness is a more targeted approach that has long-lasting benefits. Every individual has within their body an inherent wisdom and ability to self-heal. The naturopathic physician assists the patient in removing any obstacles to this process and nourishes it. Ultimately the patient is responsible for their own wellbeing. The ND is there to educate, to give support and treatment where necessary, and to encourage a healthy lifestyle.
Regulation
Naturopathic medicine is regulated provincially under the Health Professions Act. To practice naturopathic medicine in British Columbia, an ND must be a member in good standing with the College of Naturopathic Physicians of British Columbia (CNPBC).
Education
To become a naturopathic physician in British Columbia, the candidate must have completed at least 3 years of an undergraduate degree (with specific courses in biology, chemistry, psychology, and others) and then complete a 4 year Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine program at an accredited institution. There are 2 such institutions in Canada: the Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine in New Westminster, BC, and the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in Toronto. In addition, the candidate is required to pass NPLEx (Naturopathic Physicians Licensing Exams) and provincial jurisprudence and oral practical exams.
