NEW PATIENTS
What to expect on your first visit
Initial visits take 75 minutes (60 minutes for children). In this time, you will have an opportunity to discuss your current health and wellbeing issues, as well as your past medical history, family history, and other relevant details of your life.
Dr. Gartshore will perform a brief physical exam related to your health concerns, and discuss her findings and assessment with you.
At the end of your visit you will be given a general treatment plan to get started on. A more targeted treatment plan will be given at a subsequent visit once the necessary information has been gathered to make an accurate diagnosis. In some cases additional laboratory testing may be required to support the diagnosis and to monitor progress.
Follow-Up Visits
Follow-up visits are often 30 minutes long. The first follow-up is scheduled for somewhere between 1 and 4 weeks after your initial visit, depending on your individual health needs. For some patients, frequent visits are important initially to establish and monitor an effective treatment plan.
For patients who consider themselves to be generally in good health and are seeking naturopathic care for preventative purposes, visits may be less frequent, such as a seasonal check-up or as needed for acute illnesses.
How to optimize your healing experience
To assist Dr. Gartshore in being able to clearly understand what factors are playing a part in your current health situation, it is helpful if you bring in any recent lab test and/ or diagnostic imaging results, as well as a list of your current medications and supplements, with names and doses. You are welcome to bring in the containers if you prefer.
Before your first visit, please download and print out the intake form. If you don’t have a printer we can mail you the form or you can pick it up at the clinic. We suggest that you fill out the form at home before your visit so that you have time to think about your treatment goals and to provide as much health information as possible.
